Jawi Peranakan Mansion

The Jawi Peranakan Mansion (JPM), the latest addition to George Town Heritage Hotels' collection, is another creation of Chris Ong. The stately Anglo-Indian mansion, acquired in 2012 in a dilapidated state, has been artfully restored. Three years of restoration revived the original architectural elements: lime plaster walls, wood lattices, plantation shutters, cornices, architraves, Doric columns, and Adam's wheel window arches. The building is an eclectic mix of 18th/19th-century British architecture and Mughal-era Muslim design, accented with Indian ethnic motifs. The mansion offers eight rooms and six family suites.
